Ofsted inspected the school at the end of January and early February in 2018. They gave a glowing report into some of the many things that make Deenway special. You can read the full report here.
In May 2016 Ofsted returned with another surprise inspection following on from the inspection made in September 2015. The purpose of this inspection was to evaluate the school following Ofsted's findings in the previous inspection. In our view the previous inspection was flawed and not conducted in good faith. You can read about that inspection and the school's complaint in the article following this one. In this 2016 inspection however, Ofsted took an entirely different view of the school and acknowledged its high standards, pupils' confidence and levels of excellence. Ofsted agreed that the school meets all the standards required in the regulations and commented positively on the pupils, leadership and curriculum.
The school is nevertheless still pursuing its case against Ofsted and is seeking a formal apology and other remedies for Ofsted's failure to inspect correctly the first time, and its failure to investigate the school's complaint properly.
In September 2015 the school was subjected to a No-Notice inspection. It is the school's view that the inspection was not properly conducted and the school has made an official complaint to Ofsted. Another worrying aspect of the inspection was the fact that the published report contains many factual inaccuracies which Ofsted has not corrected despite the school making them aware of the issues. You can read the inspection report together with the headmaster's official letter of complaint here.
